Stop what you're doing right now and look around you, remember where you are, what you are doing, because this is an historic day in Cubs history.

You'd have to be over 70 years old (and there may be a few here, but not many) to really remember the last time a Cubs team was 33 games over .500. It was on September 30, 1945...


And we all know the significance of 1945, right? Today is a great day.

Oh yeah, and our African American junior senator was nominated for President last night. He's a White Sox fan but I'll forgive him for that. Between baseball and politics, I don't know how I'm going to get anything done during the next two months, but it's a hell of an exciting time in the city right now.
